The MV Kenanga a Panamanian registered ship was arrested as it lay in anchorage off the Port of Cape Town. Alan worked closely with the Philippine crew under the ship’s Master, Captain Silab and the Sheriff of Cape Town East to ensure that the crew were provisioned, their rights were not violated and that they were receiving that which was due to them while the lengthy judicial proceedings were underway.

The first visit to the ship, boarding it via the rope ladder to issue the arrest papers. There was no other way to board as the ship was in anchorage.
